How to Join the Professional Program in Finance
Acceptance into the Professional Program in Finance at UT Dallas is based on quantitative metrics (such as GPA, academic coursework and job experience) and qualitative considerations (such as communication skills, attitude and drive).
Admission is competitive and limited to top applicants.
When is the PPF application deadline?
There is one application window each academic year:
Online applications open Aug. 15, 2024 and close Sept. 6, 2024.
What are the PPF application requirements?
Applicants must be finance majors (double majors are fine) and must have, at a minimum:
- Sophomore or junior level standing, defined as at least 3 semesters remaining until graduation and not currently in first or second semester of college enrollment
- At least 6 graded credit hours at University of Texas at Dallas or another accredited four-year academic institution
- A minimum GPA of 3.5 or higher
Satisfaction of minimum requirements does not guarantee admission into the program.
Select applicants will be chosen for in-person interviews which will determine final acceptance.
What is the PPF Interview Process?
Student applicants selected for consideration will interview with the PPF Director in early September of each academic year.
Membership selection will be completed and announced by late September.
What are the requirements to graduate with the PFF designation?
To remain in good standing and graduate with the Professional Program in Finance designation, PPF members must:
- Complete a PPF-specific course on financial modeling and valuation, including producing a working 3-statement financial model and five-year forecast
- Have one internship every calendar year
- Participate in at least one competition each year
- Maintain a cumulative 3.5 GPA or higher
