GFMC is a student organization for finance enthusiasts that aims to build a strong network and connection among like minds, in the process preparing comets to dive into the pool of opportunities the world has to offer. I have been associated with GFMC as a member since my first semester and like most international students, I was overwhelmed with infinite questions and dilemmas for my way forward. GFMC team helped me a great deal at every step of the way and warmly welcomed me to be a part of this UTD family. This encouragement prompted me to apply for an officer position after my first semester and in turn help students. As, the lead event coordinator, I am looking forward to planning informative events and workshops, collaborating with finance professionals, that will help students to gain practical skills and knowledge and achieve their professional goals. We will work to the best of our abilities to ensure every GFMC event is worth attending! I will be more than happy to share my insights and learnings from my 6 years of professional experience in Corporate Finance and International taxation with future finance professionals. If you have any event or workshop ideas, please feel free to reach out to me and we will work together to make it happen!

The Graduate Finance Management Council (GFMC) is a student organization that aims to bring together finance students from all backgrounds. We provide a forum for students to explore and learn about the various aspects of the financial world, from corporate finance to investment banking. We also host networking events with alumni and industry professionals and offer mentoring and case workshops to help students develop their skills. I joined GFMC in my first semester here at UTD and have found it to be a valuable tool for gaining insight into the finance world. As someone from an engineering background prior to joining UTD, GFMC has made me more aware of the skills required to succeed in the finance world and has provided many opportunities for learning and growth. I would like to strongly encourage anyone pursuing their master’s in finance to join GFMC. As GFMC’s Event Manager, I am committed to helping students succeed in their academic and professional careers. GFMC is an admirable student organization dedicated to providing unwavering support to the finance student community at UTD. Transitioning back into academics after a five-year experience in a new country proved to be a challenging endeavor for me. However, thanks to the exceptional efforts of the GFMC officers, this process was made considerably easier. With the invaluable guidance of both the GFMC team and the program director, I swiftly familiarized myself with the course structure, class selection, and various campus activities. GFMC serves as an inclusive platform that empowers students to acquire new knowledge, showcase their talents, and cultivate a genuine sense of belonging within the financial realm. Drawing from my own personal experiences of overcoming similar obstacles, I am confident in my ability to assist and guide others in the same manner that my senior GFMC members helped me. As a qualified Chartered Accountant currently pursuing a Masters in Finance at UTD, I am eager to share my insights and experiences with current and prospective students. At GFMC, we wholeheartedly believe in extending a helping hand to those who seek it. If you require any guidance throughout your university journey within the finance community, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.

Vice President

As an International student I initially found it difficult to comprehend the course structure, class choices, and fundamental campus activities and balance them with my academics. GFMC team along with the program director truly helped me in getting familiar with the education system in the United States. With GFMC’s networking, campus resources, resume reviews, alumni gatherings, and Coffee Chats helped me find a way to interact with different people at The University of Texas at Dallas and understand the way to excel in this field. Being a Chartered Accountant (CPA equivalent in USA), I had the passion for understanding the field of Accountancy and Finance. In addition to this, I have worked on internship roles with a renowned firm in India as an investment advisor and a tax consultant. I also have experience working as a financial analyst at different private-sector banks, including Deutsche Bank. Please feel free to get in touch with me so that we can help you with any challenges at the University of Texas at Dallas. I believe that as the Vice President of GFMC, I can assist incoming and current students in any possible way I can and to extend the knowledge I have learned from my five years of work experience in finance.
