Graduation Date: 2020

Program/Concentration: Professional MBA, Finance and Real Estate Concentration

Through a diverse career path, I have had numerous challenging opportunities to engage with many great real estate professionals within a wide spectrum spanning from developers to construction team members, as well as many other players in between these two extremes. I chose UTD because the values it offers, such as diversified and inclusive culture, small classroom sizes, extraordinary education, high rankings, affordable program cost, and significant networking opportunities, just a few to mention. The real estate program has helped me greatly to reinforce many of the real-world concepts I had been previously exposed to due to my line of work. Additionally, it has taught me many useful theories, techniques, applicable laws and has equipped me with many new critical skills.

All my professors have been caring, engaging and experts in their field. As an example, Dr. Guttery is a patient professional with a true heart of a teacher and not only taught me the principles well, he also greatly enticed my eagerness to keep curious and to continue to learn. His Intro to Real Estate course, despite its title’s connotation of simplicity, gave me very in-depth knowledge on important real-world topics. I found the contents from the course tremendously useful afterward. As a student, I am very pleased with the real estate program and with my school choice. As a professional I can relate to the topics I have been learning on daily basis and finally as an individual, I have been applying the education I am receiving at UTD to enhance personal finance and decision-makings. Whether or not real estate is your area of personal interest or career focus, I highly recommend everyone take a couple of electives on this topic, where and when you have the benefits of learning from some of the best faculty members and colleagues. Not only will you gain remarkable outcomes and return on your investment, holistically speaking the experience itself will forever become one of the most extraordinary chapters in your life.

Like many of the other students, I sought out UT Dallas for my MBA due to its reputation, it being close to home and having flexible programs. In doing so, I also wanted to make sure I stretched outside of what I had done as an undergrad by diving into topics I found more interesting and useful. The Real Estate Program at UTD was definitely one of the best ways to do this  Read More

After 10 years of work experience, I decided to take the GMAT and pursue an MBA. I evaluated my options for an Executive MBA program at UTD and other institutions, but ultimately decided to pursue the Professional Flex MBA program at UTD for the value and flexibility it provided. Business travel was a part of my career, so the flexibility to take one online course and one in person course per semester allowed me to fit the MBA into my life.   Read More
