Site Visits, Networking, Competitions and More
On September 7, 2018, MS in Energy Management students visited a Total urban gas drilling operation in Arlington, Texas. Total contracted with Trinidad Drilling’s rig 129, to drill the Cornerstone North 4H well. UT Dallas sent 40 students from four classes – ENGY 6v99, BA 4V00-001, BA 4V00-003 and ENGY 6330 – on morning and afternoon visits. Broken up into small teams for safety reasons, they were given rig tours by Total’s Senior Production Operations Engineer, Drilling Consultant, Resident Safety Specialists and others.
Student Experiences
Inspired to Pursue a Second Master’s
I am an electrical engineer and worked as an assistant professor for six-plus years. While working as a professor, I felt that it is equally important to learn the business side of the industry. And that thought inspired me to pursue my second master’s in energy management.
