Two Ways to Earn Your Master’s in Finance
The Naveen Jindal School of Management offers two options for you to earn a master’s in finance degree – the MS Finance Flex and Master’s in Finance Cohort. Both programs offer the same high-quality degree with mentoring and access to numerous student resources.
Similarities Between MS Finance Flex and Cohort
All Master of Science in Finance (MS FIN) degrees are 36 semester credit hours, STEM-designated (12-24 months), and provide the practical and theoretical knowledge needed by finance professionals. The degree includes quantitative skills for financial analysis, technological skills to evaluate financial data, financial decision-making and valuation, risk management and portfolio selection and analysis.
Differences Between MS Finance Flex and Cohort
Master’s in Finance (STEM)
Program Overview:
- Start any semester: fall, spring or summer
- Full-time or part-time program
- Completion time varies, typically 12 to 24 months
- Choose electives and concentrations to tailor the program to your career needs
- Prepare for professional certifications, including the CFA®
Master’s in Finance Cohort (STEM)
Program Overview:
- Start in Summer (mid-July)
- Full-time program
- Complete in one year
- Cohort program designed to develop leaders in professional finance
- Train for the Certified Financial Analyst (CFA®) certification exams

The Financial Analyst concentration is a CFA® (Chartered Financial Analyst) Institute University Recognized Program*.

The Real Estate program is a partner with the CCIM Institute (Certified Commercial Investment Member). This allows students a fast-track route toward receiving the recognized CCIM designation.
MS Finance Program Advantages: Develop your Financial and Leadership Skills

- The Career Management Center offers workshops to develop resume and interviewing skills, as well as internship and job placement assistance.
