The UT Dallas Graduate Certificate in Financial Data Science

The Graduate Certificate in Financial Data Science focuses on the analytical technologies applied in the financial markets. These technologies include SQL and NoSQL databases, Natural Language Processing, Econometrics and Machine Learning, all of which are becoming ever more important in the provision of financial services. Students engage in hands-on projects and learn how to leverage these technologies to analyze financial data in order to solve real-world problems.

Certificate Requirements and Expectations

  • Students must complete the required courses with a 3.0 or greater grade point average.
  • Courses are offered in the evening or on weekends to accommodate working professionals.
  • Courses are typically offered in hybrid mode
  • Students must complete a boot camp before beginning the program.

Process – Application and Graduation

Students interested in the Graduate Certificate in Financial Data Science can enroll in the certificate program as a part-time student. They will need to have prior knowledge of accounting and finance. Students can develop this knowledge through approved coursework.

Students begin their program only in the Fall term. While students can be admitted anytime during the year, they only begin their studies in the Fall term after completing a boot camp in the summer.
